The forecast for the chance of precipitation on our reunion at the park has gone from 70% to 80-90%, so we are moving to the church. This location is just across the street and west of where Joseph's land was.
Welcome to all members of the Joseph Josephson Wall Family
By now Joseph Josephson Wall has a numerous posterity, and to honor our ancestor we are having a Joseph Josephson Wall Family Reunion on 20 June 2009, 11:oo A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in Holladay, Utah, 4800 South which is Murray-Holladay Road -- (do not confuse with Holladay Boulevard) 1500 East, at Big Cottonwood Regional Park (Creekside Park), which is on the south side of the road, (link to map) . This is near where Joseph is buried. Bring your own food. Also bring your family history information and photographs for scanning. If there is bad weather, the reunion will be at a nearby church - 4568 South Holladay Boulevard -which is east of Highland Drive and on the west side of the street.
If you have a blog and would like to add it to the list, please leave the information in a comment and I will add it to the Blog List below.
About this Photograph
Joseph Josephson Wall was born in Sweden in 1822 and emigrated to the United States. He settled first in Wahoo, Nebraska and then moved on to Holladay, Utah. Although the identification wasn't clear on the back of the photo (more on this later), it seems most likely that it was taken before Joseph left two of his married daughters in Wahoo, Nebraska to come to Utah. Thanks to Rick Cassady for letting me scan this photo.
Purpose of this Blog
This blog has several purposes:
to help start gathering the descendants of Joseph Josephson Wall (1822-1899); to help identify unknown photographs that I have scanned over the last several years; to become better acquainted with each other; to provide current information on the reunion in June; and to provide a link to my family history website -- marshallroots -- a PHP/MySQL database, that I am in the processing of putting together (more on this later). This database will hold unlimited individuals in family groups along with photos, histories, and much more. Watch blog entries for more information.
I am a gg-granddaughter of Joseph Josephson Wall (1822-1899) though his son Joseph Josephson Wall (1846-1921). I am working with my cousin Louise Schomas Cook on this project.
